In mid-July I am holding a one-day workshop in Manchester. Details to be confirmed.
Back to Sanity Weekend Workshop – Healing The Discord of Our Minds
August 2-4 2013, Omega Institute, New York State, United States. In this weekend workshop, we will experience and learn how cultivate the inner harmony and well-being which exists below the surface discord of our minds.
We begin with an investigation into the cognitive discord of the human mind, and then through meditation practices, experiential exercises, talks, and question-and-answer sessions, create more positive thought patterns and attempt to "dis-identify" with our thoughts and eventually to slow and still our minds. In short, to get ourselves back to sanity.
We also practice extending empathy and returning to a child's eye vision of the world. We examine our own awakening experiences and moments of harmony, and look at how to make these moments permanent. We consider the importance of releasing ourselves from psychological attachments and experience the liberating effect of becoming aware of our own mortality. I will also read from my new books of poems The Meaning, and combine the readings with spiritual exercises.
This workshop, appropriate for both helping professionals and non-professionals, offers an exceptional opportunity to heal our minds and tune into our fundamental nature of harmony and well-being.
